Get Renéa Nash Outta Prison
Why this petition matters
Hello, my name is Renéa Nash and I am currently grounded for until October 29th because I dyed my hair and pierced my nose behind my parents’ back.
I am well aware of the harm I’ve done not only to myself, but my parents. These past couple days I have gotten the time to reflect on my reckless actions and I feel that I have grown as a person.
Teenagers do dumb things, it’s written in the books. I-as a teenager- has done something dumb, but should that linger on with me for 3 months? No. For the most part, I am a good kid and I haven’t done anything really bad for me to be grounded for this long. For instance, take a look at all the other teenagers around me, many run away, talk back, do drugs, drink, stay out late. Have I done all of that? No. Therefore, I should not have to face the same punishment as those other teenagers.
Another reason I should have my sentence reduced to zero is because it has taken a toll on my mental health. In these short couple days, I feel so low, I cannot see my friends and it is absolutely bonkers I tell you. Seeing my friends going out and I have to miss out on all the fun just because of one-or two reckless mistakes seems a little much does it not? (it does). As you may know, being around people makes me feel good and actually happy. Being to myself and my thoughts for too long is not swag whatsoever.
I, Renéa Nash, just want to be free. Free from this psychological prison commonly known as, “Being Grounded.”
By signing this petition, you and I both agree that this is a cruel and unusual punishment and if this punishment continues any longer, this issue will be held up in the Court Of Law.
Thank you, Renéa Nash.
