More than ever, we need to help Americans stay in their homes. More than 5 million Americans are facing foreclosure right now, and the number is growing. Homeowners can't make mortgage payments because they have lost their jobs, and they can't afford to sell their homes for less than than what they owe to the bank. The $75 billion Making Home Affordable program was supposed to address this problem, but very little of that money has actually been spent. One reason is the red tape that needs to be cut in order to get needed assistance. The Administration needs to rewrite the rules so that Making Home Affordable can assist the millions of families that it is supposed to help. As well as getting rid of the crime on the part of banks nationwide, to falsely, in many cases, or, at least unfairly, foreclose, in many more cases. reality
