Rye Boat Ramp Upgrades

If the Rye boat ramp does not receive an upgrade and an additional fourth lane we run the risk of losing a large quantity of our holiday makers in the area. Rye has one of the busiest boat ramps this side of Mornington, having used this ramp I have seen wait times of over 45 Minutes to both launch and collect boats. I know a lot of people have approached council about having this project put on hold, A lot of those people also want a ramp built at a different location on the Southern Peninsula. If a new ramp was built at a new location, it is going to cost the local council more to do this and Rye is going to lose a lot of its Holiday Trade. We have a lot small business operators in Rye who need the holiday trade to stay open over the quiet season. This will not just affect the retail and hospitality industry, it’s going to have a large impact on people who own holiday houses that have them up for casual/holiday rent.
