We want to propose to put in a skate park at one of the three parks Baxter has. There is plenty of room at any one of the parks/land spaces in our tiny township.

Every surrounding suburb has their own skatepark and our children cannot safely travel on foot to get to any of them.
Somerville had there leisure centre upgrade and Baxter has yet to receive any upgrades or attention to it’s current recreational facilities. 
With the trail between Somerville and Baxter going ahead, it would help connect the neighbourhood suburbs and increase traction for our local businesses too.

We would like to work with the council to plan and construct a concrete skatepark to bring the community together and offer a social spot for our children. 
Having children outdoors exercising in fresh air will also increase their health and wellbeing and give some a sport to focus their energy on.
