I SUPPORT the Morgantown Non-Discrimination Ordinance

The Morgantown City Council is currently considering a non-discrimination ordinance that will include sexual orientation and gender identity. As no statewide protections exist for these classes in West Virginia, it is imperative that Morgantown take a stand in protecting its citizens citywide, as they are otherwise left vulnerable to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
By passing this non-discrimination ordinance, Morgantown will take an important step toward providing basic protections to all of its community members.
We the undersigned support Morgantown including gender identity, sexual orientation, and veteran status as protected from discrimination.
