Bribie Island is in desperate need of an Emergency Care Clinic and Day Hospital - please show your support behind the Vaid family and Moreton Bay Council regarding this proposal by signing this petition.

Background: A FAMILY of Bribie Island doctors has submitted plans to build a five-storey emergency care health clinic and day hospital with more than 100 beds. 

The Vaid Family Trust, comprising husband-wife duo Arti and Raahul from GP clinic Bribie Doctors, submitted the application to Moreton Bay Regional Council on May 28.

The proposed site for this development is known as Lot 8 Bongaree Ave, Bongaree, is next to the Department of Transport and Main Road’s Park ‘n’ Ride facility and bus interchange, behind the Bribie Island Shopping Centre.

Following the article in the “Courier Mail” The plans include a medical centre, radiology, pathology, X-ray, dental surgeries, specialist consultant rooms, office and a 335sq m central plaza with food and drink outlets on the ground floor.

Level 1 is intended to operate primarily as a day hospital comprising of 35 beds, but has the potential to accommodate for an after-hours emergency department as well.

Level 2 and 3 is designed to be a 78-bed residential high care facility inclusive of nursing and medical care. Rooms range in size from 6-18sq m and have private balconies as well as communal spaces.

Level 4 is proposed to be a childcare centre capable of accommodating for 100 children and includes outdoor play areas, a garden, a water play area and activity play pods.

It is designed to have 51 parking spaces including a people with disability space and an ambulance bay on the ground floor.
