As the only Montessori School in Brisbane's northern suburb of Moreton Bay, the Montessori community of Caboolture has been patiently waiting for several years for a Montessori secondary school. However, with repeated rejections and obstacles, the graduates of Caboolture Montessori school are having to leave their educational preferences aside and adapt to a mainstream system which is under increasing pressure nationally. 

For twenty-five years, the Caboolture Montessori school has been educating children from 15 months to age 12 according to the Montessori philosophy.  With significant differences to mainstream education, this is a clear assertion of choice from a community that supports academic rigour, a customisable curriculum and accountability, all of which Montessori teaches. The recent high NAPLAN results as well as continuous positive feedback about the high performance of our students once they leave our primary context are indicative of how well this system of education works. Now with a newly finalised curriculum for the 12-15 year group (or Cycle 4), designated building plans ready to go and a very willing community, the school has been tirelessly negotiating to bring this vision to fruition.   To date, it has been a ‘mission impossible’ due to several factors including availability of land, cost of land and Council requirements.
