We are current residents of North Fawkner and former residents and supporters. In normal times, the noise from Mahoney's Rd means that we can’t enjoy our backyards and we can have trouble sleeping at night

The noise has now intensified and will be very intense in the future because of the M80 works which will result in a new off-ramp to link Mahoney's Rd with the M80. This off-ramp will effectively bring a major road almost up to the front doorsteps of people’s houses. Heavy trucks with noisy exhaust brakes use this road as well as cars.

The M80 works don’t include any plans to upgrade the current noise wall, despite the fact that residents will be effected by much louder and more intense traffic noise. The current noise wall isn’t up to current standards.

We seek council support to help local residents lobby the state government for high quality noise walls, as the council previously assisted Glenroy residents to get noise walls.
