Stop the proposed changes to Kent road, adding bicycle lanes and reducing drivers to a SINGLE lane! Where was the consultation with the community? Where was the opportunity to object or find an alternative?

The first I heard of Kent road in Pascoe Vale having bike lanes added to each side and reducing the driving lane to a single lane was through a facebook residents group! We need to act fast: these works are apparently starting this Monday 7th of June!

I live on Kent road and have not received a single piece of correspondence regarding this proposed 'upgrade.'

Residents and community member deserve to be consulted on major infrastructure changes, yet this decision has quietly been made with ZERO community involvement.

Kent road is a busy street, it contains many widely used community sites including but not limited to cole reserve, PVH medical, a petrol station, iga, cafes, hairdressers, a vet and a school, to name a few. How could anyone think changing the road to a SINGLE lane would be a functional idea.

I am all for bicycle safety and a road toll target closer to zero but these changes are just going to cause absolute chaos. There must be a better solution. Something that is functional and takes into consideration the voices of those who live on the impacted and surrounding streets.

Please sign this petition to ask Moreland council and Vicroads to give us the right to be consulted and object to projects such as this.
