Letter to
Congress, President, Supreme Court
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Congress, President, Supreme Court.

----------------
Require half of Congress to be Female.
Women are objectified

For this country to create equality we must have equal representation. Women currently hold 89, or 16.6%, of the 539 seats in 112th US Congress – 17, or 17 % of the 100 seats in the Senate, and 72, or 16.6 % of the 435 seats in the House of Representatives.

The number of females in the United States as of Oct. 1, 2010 is 157.2 million. The number of males was 153.2 million according to U.S. Census Bureau. Women hold the majority in this country but the gender that dominate the Congress, make the decisions, and create the laws, especially those about women’s rights, are men. Does this seem right, or even fair? Our Constitution states that all men are created equal but the way our system of government is set up, it makes it difficult for women’s voices to really be heard. Let's change the law to require equality in all the branches of the government.
Women are objectified in the media. Advertisers use women as sex object to sell their products. We need to change the way women are viewed in the media. Having more women in Congress as role models can help change how women are portrayed. Watch the trailer of this film to see how women are misrepresented in so many way.
