Currently, there are only four train services a day between Maryborough and Melbourne. And fewer on the weekend. These limited services are nowhere near enough to make commuting via public transport viable for the people of Maryborough, Creswick, Clunes and Talbot. This leaves these communities mostly dependent on cars.

We call upon the Federal and State governments to fund six extra services each day. This will bring the service level up to that experienced in Ararat which has a similar population. At least one service needs to be timed to reach Melbourne before 9 am.

We need this to help people get to their jobs, study and most importantly, connect to their social networks.
