More NHS scans In pregnancy
Having just 2 scans in a low risk pregnancy is not enough!
on the 17th March 2022 I went to a private gender scan to find out that my little boys heart had stopped beating,
prior to this I had absolutely no symptoms of him not being ok, I was feeling him move and hearing his heart beat on the Doppler,
I had a early scan at 6 weeks and my 12 week scan and he was perfect at both scans absolutely no problems!
If I diddnt go to my gender scan my next scan was not for another 4 weeks meaning he would have been inside me for another 4 weeks with me not knowing he had passed away, this could have been so dangerous! I could have got sepsis and lost my life!
this just proves that feeling your baby move and hearing their heartbeat does not mean that your baby is always okay!!
I really believe that you should have scans in pregnancy every 4 weeks to make sure your baby is always okay and that any problems can be known and treated!
having to give birth to a sleeping baby was the most hardest most traumatic thing I have ever had to go through and the thought of “what if I diddnt have the private scan” is so scary who knows what could have happened to me and what has happened to other women who have been in this situation!
