Released in August 2012, High Moon Studios’ Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is often considered as the best Transformer game by its community. Unfortunately, Hasbro’s contract with Activision to publish Transformers games has expired in January 2018. As a result, Fall of Cybertron was removed from all digital stores and multiplayer has gone extremely inactive due to the lack of new players.

Since the contract expired, there’s been rumors that Activision plans to get rid the « sourcecode » in the upcoming months. For those of you who might not know what the sourcecode is, think of it as the game’s DNA ; it’s a huge file that contains the entirety of the game’s assets.

Our goal isn’t to get the game back in store. We understand doing so would cost a huge amount of money and Activision/Hasbro may not be willing to do that. This petition is to get Activision to release the sourcecode instead ; the code would be used as an ultra powerful modding tool, giving modders more freedom than ever before. Content creator Johnny Flash and his team first came up with the idea of preserving the sourcecode in order to create more mods for the game.

On another note, if this petition were to succeed, it’s pretty certain mods created from the sourcecode would only affect PC players, since it’s much more difficult to create mods for console.

We also decided that if the sourcecode gets released, it would only be handed to a trustworthy group of players. It will NOT be released to the public, in order to prevent cheaters from getting their hands on it. This petition will be sent to Activision executives so please SIGN and SHARE this with everyone. We need all the help we can get. Every vote counts !

Edit: Just to clarify things, the servers aren’t shutting down any time soon. Deletion of the sourcecode and servers shutting down do NOT correlate in this situation. Hope this helps.
