I've personally had body image issues before and I have healed from them, but one thing that would have made me recover quicker and earlier before it could have gotten worse was it being spoken about and taken seriously around schools, knowing that other people were going through what I was. I would have felt more confident and got help. Montgomery county public schools board has the power to make a change to this, so students all around the county dealing with Body Dysmorphia, Body Image issues and Eating Disorders know that they are not alone. If this petition does not go anywhere, students' mental health would be at stake be the one to make a change in our schools.
