Get Moray College UHI to run Higher Politics
This petition had 21 supporters
Due to a lack of applicants, Moray College UHI has decided not to run Higher Politics in the forthcoming academic year. By excluding this educational opportunity from the whole of Moray, it forces young people that are interested in politics and democracy to move to the central belt to achieve such ambitions.
The maximum number of students in a class is 20 according to a recent Scottish Government policy to improve educational standards. However, the college management has took the decision to have a minimum required number of 18 students to run the course.
There are currently 9 students who have chosen to take Higher Politics in August. This is a reasonable amount of students for a brand new course. Students now at this late stage have a very limited amount of courses as all the applications from the local secondary schools have been processed; there is no substitute course in Moray.
I urge the management to reconsider their decision. If you support this view please sign the petition and share.
