Several schools across the country are considering closing due to the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. It's possible what happens with COVID-19 in kids could affect the overall spread of the infection, even if kids aren't particularly at risk. Having a few cases trickle in every few days is far better than having 100 all at once. Kids in elementary schools are still learning about things like hygiene and don't wash their hands after playing on the school playground or after going to the bathroom, then go to lunch with dirty hands, bringing all the bacteria back home, which if in the body could be transmitted through the house to the parents, and in some cases, to the elderly, and this keeps spreading. This is why I think, at least until our state has fewer COVID-19 cases, we should make our schools virtual.
