I attended RMHS (class of 1992). I never knew the history of Richard Montgomery. I think it would be far more fitting to honor a true hero of the community like Gladys Young or Lillian Beatrice Brown.

Nothing should be named after a slave owner; there are many worthy people to name a school for starting with known slaves and abolitionists. The least we can do is remember the people who suffered the worst and contributed the most in the too long hidden history of this country.
