To all my two-legged and four-legged clients, I have been caring for dogs in the Bethesda, Maryland area for the past 15 years. I am fully licensed by Montgomery County Animal Control and have a Home Occupation License from the Department of Permitting Services (DPS). The community has been fully supported of my business and my clients are grateful for the attention to detail and the care that I put in to loving their family pets. DPS has put language in place that limits the number of visits per day to five, and number of visits per week to 20. This number of visits allowed per day/week, impacts all of us with Home Occupation Licenses. It is unrealistic for anybody that has grown a business to continue in business. While I understand that it is important to have regulations, it is not feasible to support a small business with five visits per day.
The county needs more caregivers providing the type of service, that I have loved doing for 15 years. My clients do not want to put their dogs in concrete jungles where they must eliminate inside, and have limited time outdoors for fresh air and exercise. Our dogs do far better in a home setting where they receive love and attention. Montgomery County Maryland must do better for the sake of our pets and animal loving owners. Change the visits per day limit.
