Ban Pornography From Public Libraries

Strolling through our public library, my kids and I stumbled upon a man who was watching pornography on one of the library’s computers. Upon reporting this situation to the librarian, she apologetically explained that he has the right to view pornography as long as the images or videos do not contain children. She offered him a “privacy screen” in an attempt to keep the computer’s images from being seen by passers-by, but to no avail. They were still very clear to anyone who even glanced in the direction of the cubby where he sat.
Libraries should be a safe place for communities. Given the fact that these public spaces are frequented by children, let’s make it so that library managers can censor the content of sites viewed by patrons.
