Linda Morris started this petition to Montgomery, Alabama City Council and

The Montgomery City Council will soon be voting on issuance of a liquor license to a business located at the site of the Z-Tec Gas Station and Convenience Store currently under construction at the corner of Wares Ferry Road and McLemore Drive in Montgomery, Alabama.

This store will be located in close proximity to several neighborhoods including Eastern Oaks, Lake Point, Mitylene Forest, Lake Forest, Taylor Downs, The Woods, and others, as well as Garrett Elementary School and Wares Ferry Elementary School. As a community we feel that any retail liquor establishment at this location is certain to be highly detrimental to our community in terms of increased crime, violence, and lowered property values.

We ask that District 1 City Councilman, Mr. Richard Bollinger, the Mayor of Montgomery, Steven Reed, as well as all of the City’s other City Council Members listen and act on our concerns and objections by rejecting any application for a license to sell liquor at this location.
