Dear Montclair State University Community,

I am writing this petition to expose the unfair, discriminatory practices of. There are complaints from her former students dating back to May 5th, 2003). It is essential the voices of students are heard especially since she's tried to silence me and other students in our class for revealing the injustices. 

We were subjected to reading racist material that promotes the exploitation, abuse, and oppression of women and people of color. When students complained about the material being traumatizing to read, the professor mocked us and told us if we didn't do the readings we would get a bad grade. In addition, exposed pictures of Iraqi men being brutalized, dismembered, and tortured. continued showing these gruesome images despite requests from students to stop. The professor also encouraged non-black students using the n word in discussion posts and using degrading names to describe women of color. Lastly, had us debate in class on whether or not murdering women was justified. 

Diversity and inclusion is one of the most important pillars of the MSU community. We can all agree that this past year and a half has been a lot of stress and anxiety. This pandemic has shown that we need to support each other to overcome adversity. It is very disappointing as a person of color and a paying student to be subjected to this unprofessional, egregious conduct from a professor that's job is to educate.
