Montauk Choice

We are signing to advocate for parental choice and request action to implement policies that reflect parental choice.
Parents throughout New York have sent a profound and clear message, we want our children to return to normalcy. New Yorkers are currently in the dark as to what data the Department of Health is relying on in imposing and extending the mask mandate and what metrics have been identified that will allow the lifting of the mask mandate to our children in NY schools.
Many mainstream news outlets have recently published information making the case against masking in schools. It doesn’t take much to find out that when it comes to scientific reasoning behind masking children, there is none.
World Health Organization guidelines, which recommend against masking children ages 5 and younger, because this age group is at low risk of illness, because masks are not “in the overall interest of the child,” and because many children are unable to wear masks properly. Even for children ages 6 to 11, the WHO does not routinely recommend masks, because of the “potential impact of wearing a mask on learning and psychosocial development.” The WHO also explicitly counsels against masking children during physical activities, including running and jumping at the playground, so as not to compromise breathing.
Mandates have failed in every town, county, state and country they’ve been implemented. While we’ve heard a great many elected officials, unelected bureaucrats and media outlets claim they’ve been effective, the data reflects the opposite and they’re consistently proven wrong with each passing day. Trust in public health and health policies is justifiably diminishing at a rapid pace. For two years now our children have been caught in the middle of unscientific political theatre and parents and families have been removed from the equation when it comes to making the best choices for our children. Please, join us in advocating for parental choice.
Sincerely,
Montauk for Choice
