Brittany Curtiss started this petition to Governor Steve Bullock

Montana has been under quarantine for at least 1 month for some of us and up to 2 months for others. We have all been very patient in waiting for our events to open back up and now once we finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it darkened once again.

Men and women of rodeo have been told now that they are not allowed to have any jackpots or rodeos (small or pro circuit) in the state of Montana. This is now putting more businesses at risk of losing arenas, livestock, and their business altogether. Rodeo is essential for all of the animals in it. The horses we ride are performance bred horses who need this in their lives. The men and women of rodeo including myself have spent years training their animals to do things that can blow others minds but now we are being told that our animals and we are not allowed to compete which is a way of life for a large percentage of the community.

How is it okay for people to go into bars, churches, restauants, tattoo shops, etc. where disease and viruses can spread like wild fire but people who sit on a horse the whole entire time are not allowed to run at an outdoor arena with guidelines? I ask that you help us open back up all of the rodeos and jackpots in Montana because in the end it's not about the people in the stands its about us going out and performing an essential lifestyle for our animals and for many of us as well.
