Petition to:  the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Montague.

Whereas the Council of the Township of Montague passed a motion at their Committee of the Whole meeting on August 4, 2020 to proceed with a Recreation Feasibility Study at a cost to taxpayers of $29,100

And whereas there are approximately 2,000 Montague taxpayers (residential and commercial)

And whereas Montague taxpayers were struggling financially before and during this pandemic, they want to see their tax dollars spent wisely and on essential items such as other recreational uses and/or building maintenance.

We the undersigned residents petition the Township of Montague Council as follows:

That the Council of Montague Township REVERSE their decision to proceed with the Recreation Feasibility Study and that the $29,100 allocated for the Study NOT be spent and remain in Reserve Funds for future Recreational needs and/or building maintenance.

Please sign below.  Because of the pandemic we are presently experiencing and the deadline of Council's official approval of this project at their meeting on September 1, 2020 and the Township's deadline for submissions to the Agenda of August 26, 2020, there is an urgency in having this petition signed so it can be presented to Council.
