In September of 2021, Matt Morris of Monroe County, Ga reported to T.G. Scott Elementary that his second grade daughter checked out a book with 2 same sex parents in it. The book, "The Family Book", written by Todd Parr, talks, and teaches children about different types of families, from same sex parents, interracial parents, to single parents... T.G. Scott Elementary removed the book from the library due to it talking and teaching children that there are same sex parents. I aim to bring the book back to the library, because children should learn that there are different types of families, especially if their parents aren't going to educate them on the subject.
