Keep Mrs Willis as Head of Undy Primary School

Keep Mrs Willis as Head of Undy Primary School
Why this petition matters
Many parents of children at Undy Primary School are both bemused and concerned with the decision of Governors not continue with the tenure of Mrs Willis as Head of the school. Having spent over 10 years at the school and the last 3 as Co Head she has played a major part in the great strides the school has taken to achieve Green flag status and pushing it towards being categorised as excellent in the next ESTYN assessment.
We have all seen the passion and enthusiasm she brings to the role, the love she has for both the school and its pupils, the new initiatives she has brought in to great effect. Mrs Willis knows not only every child but every parent or Grandparent that collects a child from the school. Do we really want to lose this level of care and commitment? We’ve all seen other local schools in similar positions make big changes like this and slide down the academic ladder, do we really want this for our school and our children?
A decision appears to have been made that affects us all, possibly the biggest decision in a decade without any consultation with the parents of the children that attend the school and it’s clearly the wrong decision for our children.
The talk around the school suggests that the vast majority want Mrs Willis to remain in the role she has carried out so well over the last few years and that the decision makers have got it wrong. The new Head is not due to start until January so if we are to effect change then we need to act now. There are over 300 children at the school, we need signatures from as many as possible to make these decision makers sit up and take notice
