After nearly 5 years of development, the 3.1 build continues to disappoint players of Zombie Panic! Source.

As a result of this, some of us have decided to rebuild and repopulate the former 2.4.1 build of the game that we, quite frankly, consider superior at this point. This is despite its glaring issues that the volunteer-developers initially set out to address; Ultimately deciding on controversial changes to well-established game mechanics as a solution.

Apart from damaging the core game-play and resulting in a lot of players quitting the game, these changes have produced a number of critical bugs and unfinished content that have remained unsolved and unfinished for years. With no updates coming out, with the game being in dire need of developer support, the volunteer-developers continue to remain silent and withhold a number of critical bug-fixes for the sake of packing updates with more content. No matter how many years this approach adds to the development cycle. No matter how much the community objects.

We do not feel that our interests have been represented by the volunteer-developers as players of Zombie Panic! Source.

Because of this, the 2.4.1 build garners a lot of interest; Some are players curious about the former version of the game but the majority simply choose it over the newer version. But it still suffers from a lack of accessibility; Being hidden away as a beta branch makes it easy to miss. Switching between the builds requires a reinstall of the entire game which is extremely impractical.

Having both versions as separate games in your steam library resolves these issues. A store page also helps spread the word of the build's existence and allows the setup of a community hub specifically dedicated to the former build.

We have people willing to pay the 100 USD Steam Direct Product Submission Fee. And we are willing to help the volunteer developers set up the Store Page and Community Hub if need be.

We wish to work together towards a solution that allows for both builds, and player-bases, to thrive.
