parking charges to visitors and volunteers ( to begin December 1, 2013)***YOUR UPDATED PROPOSAL IS STILL UNACCEPTABLE!

This petition made change with 448 supporters!

By charging the resident's family/visitors/volunteers would only discourage future visits, which contradicts Mon Sheong's request to the residents' families to visit as much as possible to better the resident's overall life style. Families have consistently supported every fund raising event by Mon Sheong with healthy donations. The parking charges will increase the families/volunteers' financial burden. This will defeat any encouragement to the younger generation (our children) to visit their elderlies more often. Visits from family members are what the elderlies look forward to. This policy demonstrates that the leader of Mon Sheong Richmond Hill does not value and support the residents' overall well being. Charging volunteers who give up their own personal time is outrageous.

Please support this petition to let Mon Sheong Richmond Hill know that they cannot just implement a parking fee just because they want to. This will reduce the visits to the elderly from family and friends and/or shorten their visits since the parking fee is charged by the half hour or $5 daily/$50 monthly/$600 yearly. These reduced visits will ultimately be hurting the elderly residents. This is not only a money issue but also a humanitarian issue.

***Update November 9, 2013*** The MSF has now amended its proposal to defer the start of the parking fees to January 1, 2014. Although fees will now be eliminated for volunteers, the families will continued to be charged when visiting their loved ones between 9-5pm. These are the hours that the residents need their families the most. The elderly residents are already tired and sleepy after 5pm. Residents love and need to share their meal time with their families. Any restriction on the visiting  schedule of the families are unacceptable. The end result remain the same with the elderly residents and their families being penalized!
