Since Thursday, citizens of Memphis have been without power due to an ice storm. Five days later, we are still without heat & lights. Temperatures have gotten down as low as 19 degrees. We are sick of only having MLGW as our choice for electricity in this city. According to the outage map, they are not concerned with the less fortunate areas, like Frayser & parts of East Memphis. We pay too much money a month to receive poor customer service such as this. We’ve been forced to spend extra money a high priced hotels to have some heat & lights. People work from home & are missing out on money due to no electricity. Kids are missing school because they can’t get dressed in the dark. People are forced to sleep in their cars wasting gas & energy. We need new people in high positions at MLGW & Another light company like other metropolitan areas so we can decide who deserves our hard earned cash. Change needs to come & start today!
