Hello Neighbours

I was hoping to get your help with something I have been battling MLC our community developer for a while now. The North West corner of the Desrochers Forest was originally planned to be "naturalized/re-forested", however, the developer MLC has decided it would easier to SOD it instead. I have been in touch with them numerous times, our city councillor Tim Cartmell and the city of Edmonton administration.

This space of land is the perfect place for them to follow through on what the original plan/concept of Desrochers was an have it be re-forested. This city needs more trees and green spaces not more sod (which would be a city tax burden to mow and maintain it yearly).

I ask that you email the city administrator in charge of natural/green spaces in the city. I have been in touch with her, however, I believe that as an entire community we will speak with a louder voice and demand the developer follow through with their original plan and re-forest this space.

Courtney Teliske is the contact person at the city of Edmonton administration. Please reach out to her and let them know we want our forest/green spaces. This forest is one of the main reasons we moved to Desrochers Villages.
