MLB.tv is an invaluable and, generally, excellent service that baseball fans outside the US rely on for viewing baseball games, and those inside the US also use extensively.

However.

Between every half inning of action, where fans watching on TV would be watching adverts, fans watching via MLB.tv are assaulted by a barrage of "MLB Flashback" clips. This involves a loud (several times louder than the broadcast) generic rock riff introducing one of a very small selection of baseball clips from baseball history (history that, apparently, started in 2019). This tiny selection is made up of clips that a lot of viewers saw live, and anyone who's watched one game on the platform has certainly seen each clip multiple times before already. All of which include announcers yelling a few seconds of commentary (again much louder than anything on the broadcast) that most viewers will know by heart after a few innings.

Did I mention that the generic rock riff plays between every clip? Six or seven times minimum per half inning? Yeah.

These add nothing to the broadcast. It doesn't help attract new fans - anyone watching them already has a subscription. It doesn't add anything to the viewing experience except frustration, annoyance and longing for peace and quiet. Frankly, we'd prefer adverts.

There already exists a "Commercial Break In Progress" overlay. We get a tantalising few seconds of it every break. We, the undersigned, implore MLB to use it, and save us from slowly losing the will to live.
