Jacob Book started this petition to MLB and

I have no idea who came up with this rule but it's downright silly.

If you are unaware the rule states teams will "begin each extra inning with a runner on second base." Why does this make sense? To speed up the game, the excuse the MLB has given to most of it's recent new rules (mound visits, pitch clock...). This is a problem that the MLB seemed to make up, every baseball fan I've talked to doesn't have any issue with the speed of games, it's only the non baseball fans who say this. Why would the MLB make rules to accommodate people who don't even watch the sport? It doesn't make any sense! And by the way, the most exciting parts of the game for us actual baseball fans are extra innings, that's when fans are biting their nails and tapping their feet, that's where all the action happens! Remember Nathan Eovaldi's 6 innings in relief, that was incredible, things like that are no longer happening due to this rule.

Help me bring baseball back to the way we love it!
