Take down the winter park slide in the field behind Clara Hughes Park. It is a spot for drug users to hind and buy their drugs.Leave their needles and paraphernalia behind for small children to touch.  It is not safe. The drug user's can see the police coming when they get called as it is high up. A group of neighbours have asked the Elmwood  MLA in our area to take it down and we have not heard anything in almost a year .It has been like this for a number of years now and this year has been especially bad. The slide area has had ambulances for drug overdoses more than once in the past year. Not only are children playing in the field but also pet owners let the dogs run around and they could get very hurt. The field faces two city blocks one on either side of the field so there are a lot of residents with children and grandchildren affected by the problem.The slide is not supposed to be used in the summer as the city puts up a locked gate on the stairs so that tells me it should not be used. There have been homeless people try to make a camp up top and sleep there for days until the police or city bylaw officers remove them.
