Just recently, it was proposed to change name of a local park because of some folks didn't like the personal and business aspects of a past president. Woodrow Wilson was an elected president at the time and is attributed with great policies and not-so-great policies. He was human.

The park was donated 100 years ago by a local family to the school district and then re-donated to Nether Providence township.

Local relevance: Woodrow Wilson spoke at a great school Swarthmore College and is well documented.

This park is for children only where they can play. Here they can ask questions about a past president, Woodrow Wilson.

There are a variety of personal opinions and a petition being created to remove his name.

This petition is to propose that the name not be changed.

Enter your name on this petition and stop this crazy thinking.  Also, by signing this petition it creates valuable input to the township decision making process.  Should another person be selected a for the park name, signing this should suggest that a thorough background check should be preformed to be sure this doesn't happen again.  For instance, was this person divorced, is there a crime record, are they citizens of the United States may be some of the topics to research.

Also, should township move forward with renaming, the township should query the local people who live within a 1 mile radius to see what they think.
