Edward Mumpower started this petition to Senator Mitch McConnell

No less than SIX US Senators have declared candidacy for US President AND have pre-judged the expected Impeachment of President Donald Trump. Since the US Senate is constitutionally required to sit as a JURY in the trial of an impeached President or Vice President, for these Senators, and others, to have publicly declared their intended votes, BEFORE hearing the evidence to be presented, is a disqualifying factor.

NO juror in any criminal or civil trial who states that he or she has already come to a conclusion about the evidence and verdict would be permitted to sit on a jury. The same should apply in a case of impeachment.

EVERY US Senator who has, publicly or privately, expressed an opinion concerning the guilt or innocence of President Donald Trump should be forcibly RECUSED from sitting as a juror during the coming Senate trial.

We, the undersigned, request that a motion be placed before the US Senate to establish a rule that disqualifies any Presidential candidate or Senator who has expressed their voting intention from voting on the verdict of ANY impeachment trial.
