S. 1917 Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act 2017

My brother has served 5 years of a 30 year sentence for non- violent drug offense. He was not caught with any drugs; he was convicted due to his past affiliations. My brother has spent a better part of his life behind bars. He has missed his daughter's wedding; he has missed the birth of his grandchildren, and the deaths off close family members due to lengthy sentencing for non- violent drug offense. There are known cases of murder and rape who are not sentenced as harshly, cases where Pedophiles who perpetuate violence on children are sentenced to less amount of time in prison.
Our government decides who they want to make examples of in the sentencing process. The lengthy sentencing of non- violent offenders must change. I am asking for support for the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act of 2017 is presented to the floor by Mitch Connell to become Law. There is support from both parties for this to pass Bill. The Bill was initially, presented by Senators Durbin and Lee in the Senate October 4, 2017.
Congress is scheduled to meet Friday March 9th. Please assist in bringing non-violent drug offenders home.
