On behalf of Surviving Souls, an organization dedicated to educating people about sexual violence prevention here at Missouri State, we come to you to address the safety of students on the campus of Missouri State University. There have been multiple and reoccurring instances of sexual assault by a student here on campus that have been reported to both staff and Title IX campus resources that have not been held to high regard, which is bringing about a major concern amongst students. We as both students and a campus resource for sexual assault have been left no choice other than to demand that action be taken against perpetrators and held to a higher priority in which resolutions are brought to fruition for the well being of students here at Missouri State University. Surviving Souls and students here on campus have come together to place the following demands in the hands of faculty to ensure the safety of students and accountability towards those who choose to harm innocent students seeking higher education at this institution:

The leadership and representational positions of those who abuse the students of Missouri State University in any way should be exposed.Those who place harm upon students of Missouri State University should be removed and denounced from any leadership positions and representation for the university.
Immediate investigation should follow after reports or allegations against a student on campus are voiced to any faculty or staff.
Updates should be consistent in informing students about investigation towards an abuser to ensure the safety of students
All staff and faculty needs to be active in supporting and assisting students with concerns of any form of abuse
Title IX needs to be more effective in ensuring action being taken against perpetrators for confidence in this resource and the security of students
We request that a new resource for crime alerts that occur on or near campus be created in the form of a digital platform for updates and anonymous submissions of concerns for safety.

We at Surviving Souls make it an emphasis and priority to support the needs and concerns of survivors of sexual assault and hope that Missouri State University will take action in showing support for survivors as well. We appreciate the time taken to take into account these demands and concerns.
