Our children are our treasure and the future of this naiton. We have turned a blind eye to their welfair on so many levels for many years. It is time for these issues to be addressed and acted upon. The system has too easy going on the punishement handed out to offenses agains our children. Harsher punishemnts are needed to deter these crimes against our children.

My son was forced to drop out of school because of emotional and psychological abuse. Our school districts and DESE are not providing the services and education that our children deserve and are entitled to. The State Board Needs review our concerns and take action. If they are not going to make changes then we really don't need a board.

Being the parent of a child with Autism, proper placement, services and treatment is always in the forefront of our thoughts. MODESE needs to consider parental concerns in improving and providing for the educational needs of our children.

Parents have had their children railroaded into state schools, the special ed advisory panel is impotent, class loads are too big, students are reported as dropout when the schools don't offer appropriate placements, parents must sometimes wait 45 days for school records (when other states are five days), IEP teams only "consider" positive behavior interventions when they need to be i"mplemented", advocates are often barred from assisting parents in hearings, students are suspended for ten days without question, child complaint "investigators" lack formal investigative training and need to be segregated from the sped section.
