Mandate Annual Drivers Testing for Senior Citizens

In 2016 alone, approximately 206 Missourians lost their lives in accidents involving at least one driver aged 65 years or older. On January 8, 2018 two teen Army reservists lost their lives when an 84 year old man did not see their disabled vehicle, along with several others vehicles, parked along A Highway in Hillsboro. The man told authorities he never even saw them.
I am asking that senior citizens be required to take annual road and written drivers tests to ensure the safety for themselves and others. This simple act could save not only their life, but countless more. This is also common practice in most states.
As we age, our reflexes slow, vision and hearing decline and minds tend to wander. Simply put, elderly are not as sharp and quick to respond in many situations. Please help make our roadways safer through the implementation of adjusted laws regarding citizens ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manor.
