In the days of Jarvis Varando and Lawrence Roberts the Humphrey Coliseum was touted as one the toughest places to play in the SEC and the country. Rick’s Rowdies played a large part in this unmatched atmosphere.

When the women became great behind Vic Schaefer the Hump rocked again, but the students had been sequestered behind the goal where they sit now.  Those record setting crowds were loud, but they could have been beyond deafening with the old student section.

Now with other schools redoing their basketball stadiums around the conference and the environments they have created around their programs, the Hump has fallen behind. Multiple games this year and years past the student sections in the lower bowl behind the basket has been full, while the rest of the lower bowl has had spotty seating at best. With poor season ticket show out in the lower bowl and students being shoved behind one basket the once great atmosphere is now gone. With renovations scheduled to begin soon now is as great of time as any to fix the problem. 

The solution: move the students from behind the basket and put them court-side.. Moving the students will make the Hump electric again.
