Lavoris Willis started this petition to Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves

Lavoris Willis is 32 years old serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for possession of a cellphone while in Tallahatchie County Jail. The phone was not found on him but in a two man cell. According to the Mississippi Court of Appeals, forensics evidence was found on the sms card aka SIM card that linked Willis to the phone.

Lavoris was sentenced under Mississippi's crushing "habitual offender" law. Lavoris's life sentence without the possibility of parole for allegedly possesing a cellphone is cruel and unusual punishment. Governor Reeves, we need you to pardon him, grant him clemency or comnute his sentence.
You have the awesome power to give Lavoris and his family their life back. You hold his life in your hands. His release would save Mississippi tax payers untold amounts of money and resources but also remove the stain of this injustice from our collective conscience.

Please show the world that Mississippi is changing everyday. We are merciful and believe in redemption.
