Miss Sporty, Please Rename Your Dishonest Animal Testing Policy

Important: As Miss Sporty does not have a Twitter account or publicly available email address, we also encourage you to comment on their Facebook page and Youtube channel (though this is updated less often) as well as contacting Coty Inc. directly regarding this matter. This makes it more likely for others to read about their testing policy. All we ask is that you contact the brand and parent company in a polite and respectful manner, as this is more likely to generate a response.

Miss Sporty is a drugstore (budget) cosmetics brand, which is owned by Coty Inc. Coty Inc. also owns brands including Rimmel and a number of celebrity fragrances (including Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga), and is known to conduct animal testing.

Although Miss Sporty's animal testing policy clearly states that: "The only exceptions are the very few countries where, by law, the regulatory authorities require us to submit our products or ingredients to them for testing on animals as a mandatory part of their regulatory protocols in compliance with their local regulations", the exact same page claims that the brand is "Animal Friendly".

This claim is misleading to consumers who lack knowledge about animal testing in cosmetics, who are most likely to take Miss Sporty at its word. At the same time, the brand's "Animal Friendly" claim is redundant because well-informed cruelty-free consumers know exactly what words and phrases to look for in animal testing statements. We want Miss Sporty to know that this dishonest claim is unacceptable. It's highly unlikely that a petition will stop the brand from testing on animals. However, it may discourage them from making dishonest claims in the future.
