Currently Menard’s wants to build a box store at st rd 23 and gumwood, a very crowded residential area and intersection with little green space for residents in the area. 

Menards already has a large store in a prime location south of here, so they do not NEED to expand, they WANT to expand, to the detriment of the residents that live and commute through this intersection.

Concerns:

1. Semi traffic on a small road where people want to be able to walk and bike across and is already very congested.

2. Doesn’t fit with development in the area which is smaller and mixed use.

3. Decreases property values of residential homes close to this proposed store (35 feet from some homes to the store)

4. Light pollution and exhaust fumes from large vehicles.

5. More concrete and asphalt in an area already lacking in green space/parks.
