Lowering the voting age in BC from 18 to 16

The voting age in British Columbia should be lowered to 16 because at 16 you can drive, you can get a job, you can pay taxes, you can move out. The government makes decisions around all these things including your education. You should be able to have a say in what happens. For example, me and a lot of my friends were directly impacted when the class sizes were bigger in BC and we got no say in the fact we didn’t get the support we needed in school.
In countries like Scotland, Argentina, Austria, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Brazil the voting age is 16. In those countries, voter turnout goes up which is something BC needs considering only 56% of registered voters between 18-25 voted in the 2017 Provincial election. Also if it works in those countries, why not in BC.
