In accordance with the Paris Accord, The Bahamas has signed on and committed as a country to help reduce carbon emissions which contribute to global warming and climate change. As stated on the Department of Environment & Housing website's National Energy Policy, "The Bahamas National Energy Policy commits a minimum of 30% of our energy matrix being by way of renewable energy by 2033." 

With the recent frequent load shedding, it is clear that service from BPL is not getting any better any time soon. Therefore, as Bahamians citizens and residents we demand action items that will significantly reduce the amount of load shedding and the number of blackouts in New Providence within the next 6 months to a year. Along with this we expect a plan that will effectively compensate residents for any loss of household appliances and the inconvenience caused to paying customers during these egregious national power outages.

We the Bahamian public are giving the Bahamas Government two months to produce an energy efficient plan that will lay out a remedy to the country's significant and debilitating energy crises. If these demands are not addressed within the two month period, then the People of The Bahamas will be forced to take legal and civil action until these demands are appropriately met.
