Why this petition matters

Started by Anne-Marie dunne

As parents of children  who attend
colaiste de hide secondary school in Tymon North we have set up this petition to bring awareness and get support from the government in arranging a private school bus for our children.

Our children have to use public transport to and from school, as they live in surrounding areas of Tallaght.

We have had issues in the past regarding Dublin bus having full capacity by the time it reaches the school and often children will be left waiting for another bus so they can get home.
This alone is very frustrating especially in the winter months as there are no bus shelter at either of the stops.

Our concerns now are with capacity changing on the Dublin bus services this is more worrying as to how and when our children will be able to get  to school on time and home from school. And how it will impact their health and safety during this pandemic.

We as parents now feel the government and school needs to arrange a private bus for our children who's only option to attend school is by bus.

On average the yearly cost per pupil to travel by public transport is €300 with more then one child attending the school can be quite costly per household.

We need as many signatures as possible to try bring awareness to this and help our children attend school safely if now more then ever before.
