Repeal Minnesota law prohibiting plastic bag bans!
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
In 2017, Gov. Mark Dayton signed a jobs bill that included provision prohibiting cities from banning plastic bags. Although Dayton was disappointed that this provision was included, it was part of a larger bill that needed to be passed. My goal with this petition is to give back to local city governments the power to decide whether plastic bags should be banned. My hope is that local city governments will handle this issue through referenda that will provide their local voters with a voice in the decision. While I believe that plastic bags are harmful to the environment, my aim is not to make the decision for Minnesota but, rather, to allow them to research the topic themselves, and come to their own conclusions and decisions through a free, Democratic process. Please help me repeal this law.
