Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five AT NO COST TO THE FAMILY...all the parents have to do is sign up online.  The books are high quality literature, and the cost is minimal...$25.00 per child gets the child a book every month for a year.  Children who are signed up at birth will receive 60 books before they begin school!  Some communities in Minnesota already have the Imagination Library because they have a "local champion" that fundraises to provide funding to children in their area.  We feel very strongly that EVERY child in Minnesota should be able to receive Imagination Library books.  Minnesota State Senator Kent Eken and Representative Paul Marquart agree.  Senator Eken has introduced a bill to the Minnesota Legislature (S.F. No.1996) that would fund this incredible program across the whole state, and Representative Marquart is introducing his own version next week.  If one passes, we'll be one of four states in the nation that places this type of value on early childhood literacy, a key component to future success.  For more information about the Imagination Library, go to www.imaginationlibrary.com  Let's let our Minnesota legislature know that we want all pre-schoolers in Minnesota to experience the Imagination Library!  Visit https://www.gis.leg.mn/iMaps/districts/ to find out how to contact the state legislators in your area.
