Jim Crow laws stripped blacks of basic rights. Pursued historical civil rights laws, many public schools were still segregated, blacks still faced voting barriers, and violence by white racists continued. Such overt racism is largely gone in the United States, but undercover racism is alive and well. Here are SOME causes of racial inequality: Difference: a person who looks at another person of a different race and says "oh you are different, therefore I am more important". Self-love: a person who believes that he is more important than another person of a different race. Anger: a person who has had a bad encounter with a person of another race, and thinks that all people of that race are equal. The goal is to eliminate the thought that all people of a different race are less human. Do you know why African Americans prefer to play basketball instead of swimming (African americans are very good at swimming)? Because they have a high drowning rate. A long time ago, during slavery, they stopped giving swimming lessons for African Americans because they were escaping through the lakes and rivers in search of their freedom. People need to stop believing that by having a different race they are better.
