Paid Menstrual Leaves

John Guillebaud, professor of reproductive health at University College London, has said that cramping can be as "bad as having a heart attack". And because men don't get it, it hasn't been given the centrality it should have got.
According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, over half of menstruating women experience pain for a day or two. A study has shown that nine out of ten women suffered period pain while they were at work, while only 27 per cent could tell their bosses about it.

In perhaps the first of its kind, a member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday has moved a private members’ Bill, the Menstruation Benefit Bill, 2017. The bill by Congress MP Ninong Ering has suggested that women who are working in private or public sectors get two days of paid menstrual leave each month, Business Standard said.

I urge all of you to sign this petition in maximum numbers so that the Goverment understands that its high time that every woman employee gets one or two paid leaves per month during periods.
